TRUE LOVE IN JAPAN: THE STORY OF KAKUTA HIROKATSU

Today we will tell you the story of Hirokatsu, about his love that lasted until death.  Sumo, is a very famous, japanese art, the people that practice this art, must do a very hard program, since childhood it's not only a fight, but they choose it as part of their lives. Hirokatsu started to practice Sumo, since middle school thanks to his continuos effort he became a professional Sumo wrestler, but without becoming famous.  He was 20 years old, when he met a girl at the same age the two of them fall in love immediatly, but the shyness of Hirokatsu and his constat Sumo practice, they couldn't always be together.  Although the girl did accompany him in his tournament, and she said to him, that she wants to marry him, the two of them decided to wait for love. She was 20, when she visited a tournament, where he lost. Before saying goodbye, she said to him, that she will return to Osaka, with her parents that travelled with her. IL MIO JUDO

La prima volta che sono salito sulla materassina ( tatami , in giapponese) avrò avuto  circa dieci anni. Ricordo ancora quanto dovetti insistere con i miei genitori che proprio non ne volevano sapere di farmi praticare quello sport all’epoca ancora semi sconosciuto  (erano  gli anni ’60 ) poiché avevano paura che mi potessi fare male. Nonostante tutto riuscii a spuntarla e con mia immensa gioia iniziai la pratica di questa bellissima e nobilissima arte marziale proveniente dal Giappone . Purtroppo la palestra (era una palestra del dopolavoro dei dipendenti del Comune di Roma), chiuse dopo un anno e solo da adolescente, qualche anno dopo, ne trovai un’altra  che mi piacesse. Si trattava della storica palestra Audace , in Via Frangipane (Roma) dove iniziai  peraltro a gareggiare come agonista sotto la guida del M° Aureli.
